Optimizing fundraising efforts to sustain quality of education for all ESUSD students

Objectives

  • Develop a culture of giving in the school community
  • Define and meet annual/multi-year goals for the Annual Grant
  • Grow participation rate and average gift per student
  • Expand Business Partnership Program
  • Maximize the profitability of Ed! fundraisers

Strategies

  • Focus on early conversion of new ESUSD families
  • Foster joint outreach strategies with PTAs
  • Coordinate donor acknowledgment activities
  • Seek corporate/foundation grants for specific programs
  • Increase Board fundraising involvement

Future Fundraising Goals

Plan for long-term success through structured giving and program growth

Objectives

  • Establish three-, five-, and ten-year fundraising goals for Ed!'s annual Grant to ESUSD and Endowment.
  • Develop new fundraising programs and identify opportunities to expand on existing fundraising efforts.

Strategies

  • Focus on Alumni giving by developing and implementing a strategic marketing and outreach plan.
  • Develop a Planned Giving program, including a marketing plan.
  • Evaluate all existing Fundraisers to determine potential growth opportunities.
  • Identify new fundraising opportunities that either complement or replace existing Fundraising events.
  • Develop roles, responsibilities, and job descriptions for new Ed! Staff members needed to establish long-term funding goals.

Engagement & Stewardship

Foster transparency, trust, and lasting relationships within our community

Objectives

  • Cultivate positive relationships with ESUSD leadership, teachers, parents, and stakeholders.
  • Serve as an informed, reliable, and objective source of information related to school funding and community priorities.
  • Uphold the highest level of transparency and trust with stakeholders.

Strategies

  • Engage ESUSD leadership, PTAs, and community organizations in Ed! activities to demonstrate a vital partnership and collaboration.
  • Engage teachers, principals, and ESUSD leadership in fundraising campaigns and events.
  • Publish annual financial audits and grant programs.
  • Recognize and thank donors for their support.

Communication & Outreach

Elevate awareness and participation through compelling, targeted messaging

Objectives

  • Increase awareness through clear, compelling, and targeted communications.
  • Educate and engage potential donors in academic and enrichment programs funded by Ed!.

Strategies

  • Implement a comprehensive and relevant marketing plan that utilizes pertinent communication platforms effectively.
  • Utilize stakeholder sources, such as ESUSD leadership, PTAs, and Community Partners, to advocate for Ed!'s mission.
  • Create consistent, comprehensive communications that can be segmented to address different perspectives as needed.

Annual Grant Impact

Ensure our funding delivers meaningful support for all students and programs

Objectives

  • Support ESUSD as a model of an exceptional TK – 12 public school district.
  • Provided funding so that Every Student Wins educationally at ESUSD.
  • Collaborate with ESUSD on funding allocation priorities to support mission-oriented programs donors value and are motivated to support.
  • Ensure the grant priorities represent parity among school sites and a meaningful cross-section of students and interests.
  • Increase the impact of grantmaking through consistent data evaluation and objective analysis of program effectiveness.

Strategies

  • Adhere to established grant guidelines and a transparent grant approval process.
  • Ensure that programs funded in the annual grant encompass all school sites and that a meaningful cross-section of programs is supported to benefit all students.
  • Regular surveys of all stakeholders are conducted to assess donor priorities and satisfaction.
  • Manage grant progress and ensure accountability by setting clear expectations for deliverables from ESUSD.

Governance & Operations

Uphold efficient systems and nonprofit best practices to support growth

Objectives

  • Cultivate a Board of Directors willing to serve as informed ambassadors of Ed!'s Mission.
  • Attract and retain professional and effective staff dedicated to the Ed! Mission and proficient in nonprofit management.
  • Maximize fundraising and operational effectiveness through technology, tools, and practices.
  • Utilize a nonprofit board governance structure to ensure the effective management of Ed! Resources.

Strategies

  • Increase the effectiveness of the Board of Directors through more engagement with the school community.
  • Implement board recruitment training and retention practices to cultivate diversity in perspective.
  • Maintain pertinent management procedures for the prudent stewardship of donations, including investment, reserve, and other operational policies.
  • Maintain high status with a respected nonprofit assessment organization.
